1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Bitwit ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

2. Description of Service

Bitwit is an educational platform that uses spaced repetition to help users learn computer science concepts. The Service includes:

  • Interactive flashcards with parameterized questions
  • Spaced repetition scheduling algorithms
  • Progress tracking and statistics
  • Access to educational content across various CS topics

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. When registering, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Accept responsibility for all activity under your account

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you represent that you have parental or guardian consent.

4. Free and Paid Services

Free Tier

The Free tier provides access to limited content (currently the first topic) at no cost. The Free tier may be modified or discontinued at any time, though we will provide reasonable notice of significant changes.

Pro Subscription

The Pro subscription provides access to all content and features. By subscribing to Pro, you agree to:

  • Pay the subscription fee (monthly or yearly, as selected)
  • Automatic renewal unless cancelled before the renewal date
  • Price changes with 30 days' notice before your next billing cycle

Cancellation

You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time through your account settings. Upon cancellation:

  • You retain Pro access until the end of your current billing period
  • No partial refunds are provided for unused time
  • Your account reverts to the Free tier
  • Your progress data is preserved

Refunds

We offer a 30-day satisfaction guarantee for new subscribers. If you're not satisfied within 30 days of your initial subscription, contact us for a full refund. Refunds are not available after the 30-day period except as required by law.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Share your account credentials or allow others to access your account
  • Attempt to circumvent payment requirements or access restrictions
  • Use automated tools to access the Service (bots, scrapers, etc.)
  • Copy, distribute, or create derivative works from our content
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

6. Intellectual Property

Our Content

All content on Bitwit—including but not limited to flashcards, questions, explanations, curriculum structure, and software—is owned by Bitwit or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

Your subscription grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the content for your own educational purposes. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from our content without written permission.

Your Content

You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service (such as feedback or suggestions). By submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, modify, and incorporate your feedback into the Service.

7. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
  • Accuracy, completeness, or reliability of content
  • Uninterrupted or error-free operation
  • Results or outcomes from using the Service

Bitwit is an educational tool. We do not guarantee that using the Service will result in any particular educational outcome, job performance, or career advancement.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BITWIT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Loss of profits, data, or goodwill
  • Service interruption or computer damage
  • Cost of substitute services
  • Any damages exceeding the amount paid by you in the past 12 months

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties or liability, so these limitations may not apply to you.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bitwit and its owners, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for:

  • Violation of these Terms
  • Conduct that we determine is harmful to other users or the Service
  • Extended periods of inactivity
  • Requests by law enforcement or government agencies

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of California.

13. General Provisions

  • Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Bitwit.
  • Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
  • Waiver: Failure to enforce any right does not waive that right.
  • Assignment: You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign our rights freely.
